It’s just one of those days…
You know those days when it’s not one thing that goes wrong, but an avalanche of mistimed events that keep building up till the collapse is inevitable.
It started last week already… we were about to go away for the weekend, so obliviously both kids fell ill with a viral infection as their pediatrician likes to call nearly everything they catch. So obviously, there goes the weekend. Instead we go off to the countryside for the weekend to the grandparents B&B. Only, as it turns out they have gone away for the weekend and we’re left with co-running the place with my hubby’s sister who is ill too.
We spend a nice weekend with the kids and their friends, picking oranges and splashing in the creak, and plan on heading back home, only to discover some of the guests have decided to overstay their welcome, and we can’t go home either. So we decide on staying the night and leaving the next morning. By this time, my cell phone battery has gone dead and no charger around.
The next morning, after running around frantically dropping off kids and parents in the correct kindies and schools, I get to the office to find an email from my best friend. “What’s up with you dear, all okay? Can’t get you at home, or on your cell phone, but I’m going anyway and taking Sarah instead! I’ve been waiting to see this show for ages, the tickets I ordered from onlineticketexpress.com got here on Friday, no way I’m missing it even if you’re in hospital (and you’d better be, otherwise I’m putting you there myself)”
At this point I feel the ground sliding and try to decide if I should charge my phone now or just email back with a good story from hospital
